Bonjour, mon ami! Do you have a dark sense of humor like me? Do you like to mess with your kids a little when they are being brats around Xmas? Well do I have the movie for you. You should check out Krampus (2015).
The Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure in Central and Eastern Alpinefolklore who, during the Christmas season, scares children who have misbehaved (Wikipedia). Pretty cool, right?! If you love Christmas, chances are you love Halloween too. This movie is a a perfect demonic spinoff of the movie National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) and combines a little fun and mischief like Hocus Pocus (1993).
The colors are great; the actors are spot on in expressing their emotions and disdain of their family. Dealing with family during the holidays is real, it's hard, it's emotionally taxing. This movie does a great job making the audience feel validated in the ridiculous lengths we must go through just to be in the same space as family, but we do it any way because it's important to keep traditions and make new memories.
This movie is also a good reminder to naughty little children watching to behave and to get their priorities straight about Christmas. No more sass talk or fighting. If they do not become better people in the spirit of Christmas, Krampus will manifest and it will find you to teach you the ultimate lesson.
