Bonjour, mon ami!
If you haven't binge-watched (#SchittsCreek) yet, get with it. One of my favorite episodes is when Alexis reminds David that (#NobodyCares). When she said it, it rang in my ears because it is so obvious and so very true. People love to obsess about themselves, including me (#ILoveMe). We can get so self-absorbed that we lose sight of the big picture and other people.
Nobody cares because nobody is thinking about you as much as you. They are not thinking about what you're doing, how you're doing it, or how it makes you feel because you are not the subject of their fascination. Every person is consumed with their own swarm of thoughts and emotions (#CloudOfConfusion). If you think you are a mess, stop and imagine how much of a mess your neighbor or co-worker is. We are all a (#HottMess) and I think it is (#FuckingFabulous). It takes the pressure off to be perfect (#ThereIsNoPerfect).
Be yourself. Be comfortable. Just be. Get out of your head and simply exist. Be your own cheerleader, be your own caregiver, be your own support system. The only person you can truly rely on without disappointment is yourself, if you're true to yourself. The only person you are competing with is yourself. The only person that cares as much as you do about the most random, benign everyday shit that makes you happy is you.
I love my community and I love my chosen framily, but at the end of the day, you are always left with you (#MeMyselfAndI). Learn to like you. Learn to love you. You is the person you have when you first wake up and when you go to bed at night. You is the person you were born as and the person you will die as. You is your inner most truest form of light. Love yourself dearly because nobody will ever care as much about you as you. You will be a better, kinder person because of it. Amen.
