Bonjour, mon ami! How are you today?
Yo, yo, yo...why is everyone so jumpy, so judgmental, so temperamental?
Yo, yo, yo...what are you doing, what are you saying, why are you praying?
Yo, yo, yo...what happened to you, why so down, let's turn that frown upside down?
Yo, yo, yo...everyone is scared, so don't you think it's time that we all be kind?
Everyone is operating out of fear. Fear reduces human beings to their animalistic survival instincts. They lash out, curse you out, and almost run you off the road as if they are competing for space, resources, and acknowledgment that they hurt (#IDidNothingToYou).
We're all hurt. We're all scared. You cannot wear your trauma as a badge of honor. Life must go on. You must grow or you will get left behind. You will lose friends. You will lose family.
Sometimes you will elevate spiritually before others. Sometimes you will be the late bloomer. It doesn't really matter as long as you're evolving and not devolving.
Don't think that you're better than anyone simply because you (#LeveledUp). Always be kind and realize that there are many others who are lost and scared in this world. It's not your job to save them, but it's also not your job to crush their spirit (#BeKind, #LendAHand).
Don't be offended if the mentee doesn't take your advice. Trust me, they are listening. Sometimes the mentee is figuring out what parts apply to their journey and which parts don't apply (#TakeWhatYouNeed, #LeaveWhatYouDont).
They may not understand what you say in the present. If there is any truth to the wisdom you share, the dots will connect in their head later in life (#AllInGoodTime).
